Terms of Use
Terms governing access to Nova and https://nova.datanovalabs.com.
Last updated: June 2026
1. Agreement
By accessing Nova (the Teams application, API, and portal at https://nova.datanovalabs.com) or this website, you agree to these Terms of Use on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, your organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service description
Nova is an AI-assisted analyst for Microsoft Teams that connects to Power BI semantic models, supports document upload and review, document search, optional report generation, and related portal services. Nova provides analytical assistance based on your data and uploaded files — it is not a substitute for professional judgment, audited financial reporting, or statutory compliance processes.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must use a valid Microsoft work or school account authorised by your organisation. You are responsible for activity under your account. Your organisation's administrators may enable, disable, or manage users through the Nova portal. Support: support@datanovalabs.com.
4. Start Free, credits, and billing
- Start Free — new organisations receive $69 free usage credit (30,000 Nova credits) on activation. No credit card is required to start.
- Usage-based pricing — features consume Nova credits from your organisation balance. Credit costs vary by operation (queries, document processing, indexing, etc.).
- Top-ups and subscriptions — available through the portal via Stripe. Prices are shown in USD on the pricing page.
- Trial period — a 30-day trial period may apply to Start Free workspaces. After trial expiry or credit depletion, access may be restricted until credits are purchased or a subscription is active.
Billing enquiries: billing@datanovalabs.com.
5. Acceptable use
You must use Nova lawfully and in accordance with your organisation's policies. You must not attempt to bypass Power BI permissions, upload malware or prohibited file types, scrape or reverse engineer the service, resell access without authorisation, or use Nova to process data you are not permitted to access. Uploaded content must be appropriate for your organisation's compliance requirements.
6. Document upload and AI output
When you upload files to Nova, you confirm you have the right to submit that content for processing. AI-generated summaries, board pack reviews, and query answers may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying material figures against source systems and governed Power BI models before relying on them for decisions. See Data Retention.
7. Intellectual property
DataNova Consulting FZCO retains rights in Nova software, branding, and documentation. You retain rights in your data. You grant us a limited licence to process your data and uploaded content solely to provide the service.
8. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DataNova Consulting FZCO is not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss of profits arising from use of Nova. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid by your organisation in that period, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy describe how we handle personal data.
